* Prof. WL Chang/張文亮教授 lost a volleyball the first year at high school; his classmate helped him pay for the loss and asked him to go to church; he promised to go after the mock exams. Until senior year, his classmate invited him again, and he kept his word. After the gathering he thought, “This is likely the last time I’ll go to church.” But just as he exited, he looked at the words on the wall of the church, “God is light, God is love”/「神就是光，神就是愛」. That evening, he kneeled down and prayed, wanting to know that He is light and love. From that point on, the door to faith was opened.

Once I preached the gospel to four young fishermen at Stonington Wharf. They smoked and drank non-stop, spoke foul language and one professed to worship Buddha. I hope I can talk to them about the Lord’s way again. It’s -10 degrees here but the Lord’s love is fervent! ~James

Though the days are getting harder, the saints there are continuing to preach the gospel.

* Professor Zhang Wen Liang / 張文亮教授 who does research on water, land and air resources experienced the pain of losing his twins and was at the verge of suicide. His wife prayed for him and encouraged him to write down the stories of the scientists he had collected. He spent 30 years doing that and it is inspirational to many. In a miraculous encounter he met Jesus and was finally able to let go of the burden. (For details read his new book 「宇宙這麼大,你就是奇蹟」)*

… I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (v.17)

Be Quick and Nimble!

2. You come and call us, when we are lost in sins, when we are lonely and in distress!

* Lord I Love You with My Heart (主啊，我心愛你in Mandarin) was composed by Brother Calvin Chao /趙君影 during the war period. He was invited to preach the gospel in a certain place. He did not have the money to travel there. He prayed with his wife and they sensed there was something at home they had not offered to the Lord– their wedding ring! They took it to the pawn shop on a rainy day. He took a few steps back and could not hold his tears. Yet he knew that it was the will of the Lord and it was more important to save souls. He was moved by the Holy Spirit and composed this song, which he passed down to the future generations. Note the lyrics too. (They gained many young souls overseas years later.)
