Only walk in Your light:
1. only Jesus was left — Jesus is the only one who is innocent. He can judge and He can forgive! (v.9)
2. I am– Jesus is God, the eternal one — “I am “(v59)
* Ten years ago, McGill Alexander and his family were kidnapped by a Taiwan gangster Chen Jiang Hing. They were later released. In his book –Hostage Taipei –True Story- Forgiveness Hope, recalled the church pastor — Bill Martin who asked other saints to pray for them. Within a few hours, all foreign saints in Taiwan prayed for this and news was spread to Europe, America and South Africa. Even those who did not know him prayed for him. Chen later surrounded, repented and baptized before his execution. God had heard the church prayers!
* HK – Bro Lau Wai Lun will have chemotherapy next Monday. He rejoices in Jesus but is still worrying about the treatment. Plse pray for him, his wife & his little daughter.

Come to have life, listen to Him!
1. Hear His voice directly — Jesus said,–yet you refuse to come to me to have life? Listen to His word so that these words will turn into life for you.
2. The Holy Spirit speaks through the Word –the words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life… (John 6:63) Christ lives inside us via the Spirit , speaks to us, touches us, enlightens us & guides us. This is how we gain the way of life!
*Sister Josephine,(HK) wrote — “Yesterday I attended the funeral meeting of a dear sister – Law Man Yee. I don’t know her but her life really encouraged me. She was only 44 yrs. old & died for brain cancer. She has a 13-yr old daughter and 4-yr old son. I was deeply touched to hear that she loves so much of everyone she knows especially her relatives and families. She promised to her families to support the whole day of expenses (transportation, eating, etc) if they are all willing to come to the Gospel Meeting. I learn the love of God from Man Yee. May God teaches us how to live, not only for ourselves, but for others who are in the hopeless.” “I tell you the truth, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But it dies, it produces many seeds” (John 12:24) May all of us could know and understand our purpose of life!

Spiritual food keeps us alive:
1. The eternal food is the Christ coming down from the above (v11, 14, 27, 29, 33, 48, 51, 58)
2. The eternal satisfaction is based on accepting the Lord & enjoying the Spiritual food (God’s words), united with the Lord! (v.35, 56)

First-handed hearing, faith & living water:
1. Living Water (v.14) — with Jesus, we have a well of living water in us (the Spirit)!
2. Living Faith (v.40) — the Spirit lives in us. Start listening to the Spirit today and feed yourself with the living water!
Jesus stayed in Samaria for 2 days to strengthen those believing him because of the woman’s testimony. Second-handed hearing will not bring strong faith, only those with first-hand hearing can have their faith able to stand trials.
?last Sunday’s gospel meeting, A sister came from Canada invited her friend – a lady from Calgary . The lady believed with sincere heart, she admitted that when she was young, she had stood up in gospel meeting showing her belief in Jesus. But in fact she had not yet believed, and she asked the church to cancel her name afterward! Several decades passed quickly, she had moved to North America. But this time in HK she is serious towards God — and no turning back!

?Last night I dined with a few pastors. All of them have served the Lord for several decades, with one serving God for 4 generations! 2 principals of seminary colleges recalled their long struggles in nurturing thousands of servants of God. They all experienced the God who brings things from nothing. One witnessed that his father was also God’s servant. At that time his father’s salaries was $100+, sometimes couldn’t afford to take the children to see the doctor…now all children grown up and becomes faithful pastors too! . God so faithful and trustworthy !

Two things that men need :
1. Life — In Him was life (v4a)
2. Light — the life was the light of men (v. 4b)
* “Disease & History ” — written by F.F. Cartwright & M. Biddiss. They refer the times of Roman Empire when whole country persecuted Christians .A royal army commander followed Jesus Jesus privately and let others become Christians too. Eventually, there were two young men sentenced to capital punishment by goverment. However,even the guards and the judge also beleived in Christ in 288 AD .They were also executed! The emperor could not stand with this anymore, and ordered this commander to give up his faith . The commander refused & so killed .Christian belief always hated by the world since ancient time. How can we, the follower of Jesus, stay away from suffering?
* Brother Frankie Chow sent us good news — his mothercleared all idols last week! Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and listened to our prayer!

Be Lord’s disciples and be God’s dwelling —- experiencing God’s grace in 2 attitudes :
1. Only listen to the Lord’s order ?v.12…13?– In the future, don’t rely on your experience. Listen to the direction of the resurrected Lord!
2. Accept the Lord’s preparation for your life?v.18…23?– He prepares all your needs. Be content with His will!
?I am reading the biography of Paul Tsui. He had been a talent since he was small ,memorizing things extremely well. Paul was a Buddhist monk; also devoted in revolutions; at last became a pastor for Christ . Before Cultural Revolution, He and his wife felt disaster was coming. They knelt down & pray, God gave them a verse , which became their strength in all torture :– “Everyone, then, to whom my words come and who does them, will be like a wise man who made his house on a rock; and the rain came down and there was a rush of waters and the winds were driving against that house, but it was not moved; because it was based on the rock.”?Matthew.24…25?
*The funeral of Yau Chun Hing, ( pastor ??? Issac Yau’s grandfather ) was held yesterday. Before he passed away in 87, he phoned his grandson and said goodbye to him. “I am going to meet Jesus” . Issac told him,“go in peace.”Please pray for the souls of Issac’s family!

Early in the morning , Jesus stood on the shore…
Remain in the world to serve — 3 aspects of our serving:
1. Be obedient with all our hearts and be fishermen of men (v.1-8)
2. Love the Lord will all our hearts and be faithful shepherds (v.9-18)
3. Follow Him with all our might and be disciples with vision (v.19-25)
* Dora had a hard childhood. So she devoted herself in working when she grew up. Though she had become famous in the financial world, she found no real happiness in heart. In 83’ she had a great sickness. Both doctors and fortune tellers couldn’t help her. At last she met God in a church. She was baptized in 99’ at River Jordan, all the hatred disappeared from her. God gave her a verse, “…I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.” (Isa 38:5) Soon her sickness was cured and she shares the Lord’s love everywhere ! (Dora’s story had been cinematized as “The Lie of Happiness”, shown in HK )

3 blessings of peace :
1. Are you in fear ? —Our Lord’s appearing gives you peace (v.19)
2. Are you perplexed ? — Our Lord’s sending gives you peace (v.21)
3. Are you in misbelieve? — Our Lord’s words shows you peace (v.26)
Don’t forget that the 3 times our Lord appeared after his resurrection were in gatherings of the disciples. If you don’t come to gatherings…..
* I preached “The Gracious Love” in last Sunday gospel meeting, His name victorious. A youth Ah Tak witnessed that he had been wandering in the world. He owed a large some of unpaid credit card liabilities, involved in piracy trading and drug trafficking; he was also addicted in drugs. Once he was brought to the church and heard the 7 words of Jesus on the cross , he turned to Jesus in tears. After that he was reconciled with his family and stopped all his illegal businesses. Even I myself was captured by his speech and nearly forgot to speak…Who else except the Lord can save him from all his sins ! ?

Law of Success
Lead regular life: Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training… (1 Cor Ch.9)
Be concentrated: But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what in ahead… (Phil Ch.3)
Reduce pressure: Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)?
Coping with pressure:
Adjust lifestyle, enhance physical condition, increase self-confidence: …but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength?Isa Ch.40?
Make preparation :…the ant…stores its provisions in summer & gathers its food at harvest…(Prov Ch.6)
Building up support: …a brother is born for adversity. (Prov Ch.17)?
Balanced diet: …your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit…(1 Cor Ch.6)… so whether you eat or drink…do it all for the glory of God. (10:31)
Keep fit: For physical training is of some value, but godliness…holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. (1 Tim Ch.4)
Positive thinking: …Guard your heart… (Prov Ch.4)?
Go forward with courage:…It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Col Ch.3)

Blood and water on the cross — settling our problem of double sin :
1. Lord’s blood was shed — to forgive our sins (Eph 1:7)
2. Lord’s water was shed — to change our habit of sinning (sin) (1 Cor 10:4)
The blood and the Spirit are our reliance forever!
* Bro Fung Si Ho ??? was discovered having nasopharyngeal cancer in 93’. The cancer reoccurred 5 years later. During treatment he took 5 meals a day, he had to sit down for an hour & let milk to flow slowly into his mouth. Every time he took his milk while listening to hymns. In a year he had listened to more than 1000 hymns, regardless of new or classic hymns. Though his body in pain, his heart filled with praises & comfort. We can worship God in any situation – don’t say you are too busy !

Special administrative region of Christ — ruling in the lives of the truth-seekers :
1.Our Lord’s kingdom is a kingdom of truth (v.36) — He is expanding His territory in our hearts – to conquer the hearts of many !
2. Our Lord Himself is the King of Truth (v.37) — His kingship comes from heaven. Where there are His people, there will be the testimony of the truth.
* Rival in love becomes matchmaker – I know a lawyer Simon who pursued a girl classmatewith all his heart when he studied in university in England. He is good looking and he has a good educational background, besides he also speaks well. These made him a decent choice, but the girl loved Jesus rather than him! Simon was defeated , which he considered a great defeat. As driven by curiosity he went to church to take a close examination about his “rival in love”. However, he felt the goodness of faith, love and hope as shown by the saints and he himself surrendered to Jesus also! After 3 years, surprisingly Jesus had become his matchmaker instead of rival. Simon married the girl he solivd before! They loved each other and served the Lord together ever since.

The time of trial — after prayer :
1. Facing the future — Put yourself and all your possessions, being and hope in the Father’s hands. ?Jn Ch.17?
2. Move forward today — The real meaning of prayer is not to ease our pains. Instead it should be a road of cross – just after Jesus had made a deepest prayer, the Father put him into a hopeless situation (Jn Ch.18)
* Old Mrs. Cheung had worshipped idols for many years. She lived in elder’s home. Her health was not good and had a bad temper. When 86, she was once sent to hospital. Her tired granddaughter prayed for her, and, as filled by the Spirit, she asked her grandmother gently,‘We know we will see Lord Jesus after this life, will you come to our side?” Mrs. Cheung answered, “Yes, I want to believe in Jesus too.” After believing her health turned better, and she was taken by the Lord peacefully till she was 92. “Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.” (Ps 16:9)

?Yesterday I preached gospel in funeral of a 90-year-old sister. She accepted Jesus in 1931 – Beijing, attended Wong Ming Tao’s ???sermons . Her husband suffered from lung disease . so she worked alone to support of 5 kids. She used to teach them singing “I really know Jesus loves me”. With all efort she hepled children grow up with all talents . Though she was troubled by sickness herself, still kept on praying for children & grandchildren. Yesterday her descendants came from at least 7 cities over he world ! A little faith had changed the whole famly!

Glorious prayer —- 4 reasons that we can become overcomers:

* In Taiwan a woman buried her savings of 2 millions dollars in a hillside. Flood and landslides came. 2 years afterward the woman found that the notes she buried all worn-out . Mt 25 :27 reminds us to make use of the talents God has given us. Make sure that we have deposited the money into the heavenly bank , so that we can take it back with interest when our Lord returns!

Why worry if the Spirit is in our hearts ?
1. Empty yourself for the Spirit to come?v.7…11?… We often only experience the closest relation with the Spirit in adversities!
2. Cleanse yourself for the Spirit to fill?v.20…22?… The work of the cross is from death to life!

?The number of cancer patients rises drastically all over the world. The terminal cancer patients especially need caring . I recommend the CDs ?????????by Rev. Leung Ying On which I’m listening recently. He described how the patients pass away peacefully while hope and comfort are brought to their family — by the help of the Spirit.

?Stephen Hawking the scientist said in HK , that there are many unknown factors in cosmology, like how the future of the universe will be, where do human beings come from, why human beings are here and etc…Professor Kang Phee Seng from Dept. of Religion & Philosophy (HK Baptist University) wirtes an article in today’s Ming Pao Daily , pointing out that though Stephen Hawking’s theories are inspiring, the 2 mysteries of “where do human beings come from”and “why are human beings here”– are still unsolved !

2. Our Lord no loner calls us servants, but call us friends — How blessed we are if you are friend of the President or GEC of major firms – we can see or phone them any time! ?v.12…17?
?Pastor Maak Hay Chun??? met a gentleman on a plane. His company had branches in HK, Singapore and Taiwan, and he travels very often. The gentleman asked about the company of Maak and its size, Maak said, “It is the largest in the world, having several dozens branches in every major city and at least three or four in every village. Its name is“The Church of Christ Jesus”, and I’m a pastor in it “

Good news — God wants to live with men:

2. The Spirit stayed in our hearts– to comfort us & grant us peace?v.25…31?
?Lee King Hin ??? the traveler mentioned in his journal about his round-the-globe traveling. He found that the countries most backward & poor is in Middle Africa. These are also the most annoying countries. He found that most places there are ruled by tyrants. But he met two missionaries in the rainforest. One of them has lived for 25 years in this poor place, teaching the native people to cultivate, to read ,to write and to build houses. He had even trained 3 dentists there!

For a wearied heart — 5 consolations by Lord Jesus :
1.Our Lord had prepared places for us?v.1…6?
2. By now we have known the Father?v.7…11?
3. We have the authority to pray?v.12…15?
4. We have the Holy Spirit as our Comforter?v.16…18?
5. We can experience the love of Father?v.19…24?
6. We have the peace the Lord left for us?v.25…31?
?A Mr. Tao who had been a sailor found life lonely and boring. He was addicted in opium and alcohol. One night he couldn’t fall asleep, and he knelt down and prayed, “I am now 70 and approaching my end. O God, please help me to fall asleep without opium or alcohol.” In the next morning, he found the blue sky especially beautiful, and then he realized that he had got a good sleep he had never had before. In excitement he shouted, “I have met God!” And he threw all his opium and wines into the sea, trusting God only & also slept well every night. When he arrived HK he was baptized, and he became healthy again. His testimony attracted many to the Lord. Mr. Tao left HK at his 86 and went back to his homeland Shan Tung to preach. — Because, whoever will call upon the name of Lord will be saved.?Rom 10:13?

Last advices in Love:
1. He has loved his own who were in the world?v.1?
2. He wants us to love one another?v.34?
?Children’s offering — I know two mums teaching their children with godly heart. One teaches her kids to give thanks in all occasions. She made a “thanks giving box”at home, children write down whenever they give thanks and put into the box. At the end of year they will open the box to count God’s grace! Another mum teaches her daughter to offer. The girl earns pocket money by doing housework and saves them in little box. Last week the girl first time ever put her money earned into church offering box! (May God accept in delight)
?Little Sam had his two legs broken last week after children’s meeting . He suffered much from the pain. our Lord healed him miraculously. Here is the thank you message by Sam :“Thank you for praying for me. I am happy. God has healed me. Thank God. I can walk now and I may go back to school tomorrow,”— little Sam typed.

?The Ark Channel continues —during body check, my neck seems haing problem. Yesterday medical report indicating not cancer.Thus Ark Channel can continue. Thanks my Lord , , and also thanks the prayers from you all ! ”However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.” <acts 20:24>

2. Pure and sincere worship?v.7?—- The whole house (whole church, or even the entire human race) will be blessed generation over generation by your actions in love towards Jesus!
?The Liu Gui Mountain Orphanage in Taiwan , was founded by Pastor Yeung Yu ??and his wife. In about 30 years ago, Yeung Yan Tin ???(means “grace” in Chinese) whose two arms and right leg were crippled since birth , was abandoned on the chopping board on a food market. Yeung’s wife was moved by God to adopt her and brought her up just as her own daughter. She taught Grace to draw with her leg and finally she become a famous artist ! She also goes around to encourage people and tell them the great love of God.
