Forgiving
1. The individual – “lest by any means such one should be swallowed up with his overmuch sorrow.” If punishment is not out of love, it will lead the person away from grace. (v7)
2. The church – “that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan.” If the punishment does not come with forgiveness, the church will experience loss. (v12)
